The Gilmore Announces 2008 Festival Line-up

The line-up for the 2008 Gilmore Keyboard Festival (the 9th biennial Gilmore Festival) has been announced by Gilmore Director Dan Gustin. Festival dates are Thurs., April 24 through Tues., May 13 with a Prelude Recital on Sun., April 13. More than one hundred events will fill the Festival calendar. In addition to Festival events in Kalamazoo, concerts will take place in Grand Rapids, Battle Creek, St. Joseph, Benton Harbor, Albion, Three Rivers, Vicksburg, and Zeeland.

Gustin, Director of the Gilmore International Keyboard Festival. KALAMAZOO, MICH.—The stellar line-up for the 2006 Irving S. Gilmore International Keyboard Festival once again will deliver a bounty of musical riches to West Michigan and debut the performances of the 2006 newly-named Gilmore Artist. September 11, 2005, Kalamazoo, Mich—Two young Americans have been named the recipients of the 2006 Gilmore Young Artist Award, it was announced by Daniel R. Gustin, Director of The Gilmore.
Gilmore Young Artist Awards are given every two years by the Irving S. Gilmore International Keyboard Festival in West Michigan. The Award is meant to single out the most promising of the new generation of pianists, age 21 and younger, in the United States.

Kalamazoo, Mich.—The first Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson International Trio Award (KLRITA) has been awarded to the Claremont Trio. The Trio was selected in December 2003 by a panel comprised of musicians Richard Goode, Jaime Laredo, Robert McDonald, Sharon Robinson, and Joel Smirnoff along with two presenters, Lois R. Beznos, Chamber Music Society of Detroit and Ara Guzelimian, Carnegie Hall.
